Janet Estelle Cleveland

Janet Estelle Cleveland passed away on September 20, 2024 at the age of 89. Janet was born on December 11, 1934, in Manchester, CT, the daughter of Leon and Mae (nee Hollister) Cone.

After graduating from Providence Bible Institute in Providence, RI, Janet married Roger Cleveland on May 5, 1956. Janet and Roger settled in Oneonta, N.Y., and started their family. The Cleveland's lived in Latham, N.Y., Waterbury, CT, and eventually in Walden, N.Y. for over thirty years. While living in Walden, Janet enjoyed her friendships with neighbors and her church family. Janet worked as a church secretary and office manager at a chiropractic practice. Eventually, Janet became a civilian employee for the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. In retirement, the Cleveland's moved to Garden Spot Village in New Holland, PA. Janet treasured those friends she and Roger made at Garden Spot. Janet and her husband moved to Bedford, TX to be closer to family. Even though her later years were clouded by dementia, she enjoyed the blessings of her younger son, Paul, and his family, who lived close by.

Janet loved God and was always involved in the life of the local church. She served the Lord in many ways, especially as a Sunday School teacher, Bible study leader, and prayer ministry leader.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Roger. Janet is survived by her two sons, Alan (Susan) Cleveland and Paul (Julie) Cleveland, along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A private family service will be held at the time of internment in Mount Vision, NY.
