JANET MARGARET ALBERS HUELSKAMP
Janet Margaret Albers Huelskamp, 88, recently of Georgetown, Texas,
passed away on September 6, 2024. She had recently relocated to Bedford,
Texas to be closer to two of her daughters. A memorial mass will be held at 2pm on Friday September 13,
2024 at St. Helens Catholic Church in Georgetown. A social gathering and luncheon will follow behind
the church in St. Rita’s Activity Center. A funeral mass and burial will be held at 9:30 am on
Saturday, September 28th at St. Augustine Catholic Church and Cemetery in Minster, Ohio.
Janet was born March 8, 1936 in Minster Ohio to the late Leo Albers and Onnolee Makely Albers.
She was raised in Minster and graduated from Minster High School while creating many lifelong
friendships. She then graduated from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing which led to working over 40 years
in several hospitals and physician offices in Dayton Ohio. Janet married
the love of her life, Robert Huelskamp in Minster on October 26, 1957. They lived in Dayton, raising their
family and building their life together until 2001 when they moved to Sun City in Georgetown Texas. While
in Dayton, they were members of St. Charles Catholic Church where Janet served as an eucharistic minister
in addition to many other volunteer positions within the church and community, including Christ Child
Society of Dayton, dedicated to serving at risk children. Upon moving to Georgetown, Janet did not stop
serving her community. She and Robert joined St. Helen Catholic Church and served as eucharistic
ministers as well as taking the eucharist to the homebound. She was also a member of the of the rosary
group, helped knit prayer shawls for the sick, counted church donations and was very active with
the St Helen Senior Group. Her most memorable charitable contribution was being a founding member of
Christ Child Society and Capital Area chapter. Their “motive and spirit is a love for the Christ Child,
expressed in fellowship and service to our community’s youth who are most in need of spiritual, physical,
emotional, or economic support, regardless of race or creed “. Janet and Robert loved to help
others and became mentors to elementary children in the local school district. She was also involved with
Annunciation Maternity Home helping young pregnant women, being their support person thru the
whole life changing process. She was an avid game player of all types and previously enjoyed tennis and
square dancing with Robert. Janet enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hosting annual parties
at Super Bowl, Kentucky Derby and Breakfast at Wimbledon in her home.
Janet was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert of 53 years, parents Leo and Onnalee
Albers, brother Father Thomas Albers CPPS, and her son-in-law Robert Longley. Leaving behind to
cherish her memory; daughters Kay Overholser (Randy) of Monroe WA, Chris Rainbolt (Rocky) of Plano
TX, Susan Longley of Bedford TX; brother-in-law Virgil Huelskamp (Lee); grandchildren Travis Overholser,
Casey Overholser (Shelby), Brittany von Lindern (Drew), Alex Rainbolt (Sidna); and her great
grandchildren Barrett, Annabelle and Thomas; along with numerous other loving family and friends.
