Janice Lane Howard Fenimore

Janice Lane Howard Fenimore, 79, of North Richland Hills, Texas, passed away on November 13, 2022 after a grace-filled battle with cancer. Janice was born to Elmer and Morris Howard in Abilene, Texas on July 31, 1943.
She is survived by William “Bill” Fenimore, her beloved husband of almost 59 years; daughters, Jill Spicer and Paige Fenimore; grandchildren, Alex, Luke, Song, Anna, Emma and Ella Spicer, Chandler and Shelby Welch; brother, Stanley and Kay Howard; brother-in-law, Bobby and Gaye Fenimore; bonus children, Kourtney and Aerielle Edwards; dearest friends, Sandy Bailey and Charlene Harrison; as well as the Mike Doyle Sunday School class and her Lunch Bunch friends.
Janice has now been reunited with her grandchildren, Vera and Dean and her beloved parents, who went before her.
Janice grew up in Athens, Texas, where she studied piano and ballet. She graduated as Athens High School valedictorian in 1961. While studying at North Texas State University, Janice met Bill Fenimore in a dance course. During her final year of college, they eloped! Janice received an English degree in 3 short years, then went on to teach English at Richland High School. She stayed home with her daughters during their growing up years. Janice returned to teach at Richland High School until she retired and became the most amazing and supportive grandmother to her 10 grandchildren whose lives she enriched beyond measure.
Janice and Bill loved to travel with their friends. Favorite trips included Saint Martin, Tahiti, Israel, Hawaii, Italy, Breckenridge, and rafting the Grand Canyon. As a consummate hostess, Janice also loved celebrating holidays and hosting gatherings. Her family always knew NiNi would make celebrations special. Janice was always a beautiful example of a person who shows up with a smile on her face and a willing attitude to help.
The family visitation will be held at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst from 6-8 pm on November 15. The celebration of Janice’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on November 16 at North Richland Hills Baptist Church, 6955 Blvd. 26, North Richland Hills, TX 76180.
Pallbearers for Janice are Richard Davis, Dennis Denson, Mike Doyle, Bobby Fenimore, Robert Harrison, Luke Spicer, John Dee Spicer and Doug McClure.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that contributions be made to Cornerstone Assistance Network: 3500 Noble Ave. Ft. Worth, TX 76111.
