Janis Kay Vogl passed away suddenly at home on August 31, 2022 in Euless, Texas. Born on October 16, 1939 to Vernon & Kathrin Scott in Joplin, Missouri, Jan lived a happy childhood in the Ozarks. In 1953 the family moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where she enrolled in and graduated from Central High School in 1957. She went on to attend classes at the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority and studied Home Economics, even winning the Betty Crocker Homemaker Award.
In 1960 she married her sweetheart Lawrence “Larry” Vogl at St. Cecelia’s Catholic Church in Omaha. They later had two children, Amy & David. In addition to raising a family, Jan enjoyed working as a teacher’s aide for Millard Public Schools. She loved to collect recipes, and cooking and baking. She also enjoyed shopping and the thrill of finding a good bargain. In 1984 the family moved from Omaha to Lewisville, Texas and then to Euless, Texas where the settled for the remainder of their years. Jan was affectionately known as “Gammy” to her granddaughters, and she was known for fun family dinners and birthday parties, lots of shopping trips and plenty of games and adventures. Jan is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Larry Vogl.
She is survived by her daughter Amy Jarrard and husband, Mike Jarrard, her son David Vogl, granddaughter Kellie Wyatt and husband, Lance Wyatt, great grandsons, Wells Wyatt and Walker Wyatt, granddaughter Tracie Jarrard, and her brother Bob Scott and wife, Karlyn Scott and nieces Jennifer Scott and Simone Scott.
While we miss her tremendously, we rejoice in the fact that because of her trust in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, we know she is whole and joyfully experiencing life everlasting.

Mrs. Vogl will be laid to rest with her husband, Larry following a committal service at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Parker Memorial Cemetery.
