Jason L. Christian, 47, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018, in Keller, TX. A memorial service will be held at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at 2:00 p.m.
Jason was born June 28, 1971, in Roland, Iowa, the youngest of four children, to Jerry and Sandra (Hakes) Christian. He graduated from Indianola (Iowa) High School in 1990 and from the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) in 1995. Jason met the love of his life, Jessica (Koppin) Christian, at UNI, and they were married in Newton, Iowa, on September 20, 1997.
They started their lives as husband and wife in Virginia, but in 2002, relocated to Texas for Jason’s career. The two made Keller, Texas, their home and later that year welcomed their first child, Lydia (15). Two years later, Jack “Lochlan” (13) arrived, completing their family.
Jason spent his entire career in medical supply sales and was employed by Terumo Medical at the time of his death. His successful career was due to his outgoing personality, his intense work ethic and his innate charm. He could make anyone he spoke to feel as though they were the most important person in the world. And he had the enviable ability to navigate complex situations to create positive outcomes for everyone involved. Jason was also quick witted, possessed an incredible sense of humor and could put anyone at ease. He had an enormous capacity for joy and fun and making others laugh.
Over the past 20 years, Jason enjoyed collecting Porsche racing cars and was an active member of the Porsche Club of America. He also relished playing golf and made time to enjoy these and other hobbies with friends on annual trips all over the U.S.
Jason’s greatest treasures were his wife and their two children. Jason adored watching Lydia and Lochlan compete in athletics and was incredibly proud of their strong faith in God and generous service to others. Jason’s family meant everything to him, and he was Jessica’s rock and Lydia’s and Lochlan’s sun and moon. He was a good friend, a dedicated father, a committed husband and a loyal son and brother. He will be desperately missed every minute of every day and he will never be replaced.
Jason is survived by his wife, Jessica, and their daughter, Lydia, and son, Lochlan. He also leaves to his memory his mother and father; his father-in-law, Duane Koppin (Newton, Iowa); three siblings: Angie Molenburg (Ames, Iowa), Jeff (Lisa) Christian (Phoenix, Arizona), John (Karla) Christian (Cedar Rapids, Iowa); and several nieces and nephews: Kendra Molenburg, Tyler Molenburg, Catherine Christian, Michael Christian, Tatum Grell, Reese Grell, Joshua Christian and Jonah Christian.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John & Lucille Christian and Orval & Arlene Hakes, and by his mother-in-law, Betty Koppin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The American Diabetes Association or The American Legion.
