Javad Varshochi-Monfared

Javad Varshochi-Monfared, "J.V. was born on April 22, 1960 in Tehran, Iran to Soltan Shaheer and Taghi Varshochi-Monfared He passed away on January 24, 2024 in Tehran, Iran at the age of 63 years old in the hospital surrounded by his extended family.

Javad's parents moved from the city of Tabriz to the capital city of Tehran shortly before his birth. Javad was one of eight children. Javad immigrated from Iran to Texas as a teenager and made his home in Fort Worth where he lived with his daughters.

Javad graduated from the University of North Texas with Bachelor's degrees in both Biology and Medical Technology. Javad went on to obtain a post-graduate certification in Medical Technology from Tarleton State University. Javad was a polyglot. He completed his higher education degrees in his fourth language. Javad spent more than 30 years as a Medical Laboratory Technologist at Saint Joseph's and Medical City Plaza in Fort Worth. He was an associate member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology. He retired in 2022 to spend more time with his family and travel internationally.

Javad loved to travel and recently visited Turkey, Ireland, and Iran. He loved growing fruit trees in his backyard so he could share them with his neighbors. He enjoyed being a "grandpa" to his daughters' three dogs and could often be caught sneaking them treats. Javad wrote poetry, cooked Persian food, and loved to take photographs of nature and especially of his fruit trees.

Javad was a loving father, brother, and uncle. He took an active role in his nieces' and nephews' lives and was fondly referred to as "Best Uncle USA." He was a dedicated father and went above and beyond to support his daughters. He was soft spoken, funny, kind, and would go out of his way to help anyone he met.

Javad was preceded in death by his mother, Soltan, his father, Taghi, his sister, Hamideh, and the mother of his children, Jo Catherine Angle.

Javad has left behind a family who grieves for him. He is survived by his two daughters, Margaret Shaheer Monfared and Yasamine Clair Varshochi-Monfared, his son-in-law, Brandon Garrett Hall, his sister, Habibeh, his brothers, Hassan, Ali, Ayoub, Mehdi, and Nasser. Javad had 17 nieces and nephews in addition to a substantial extended family including "grand-dogs," cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Javad was buried in an Islamic ceremony in Tehran on January 27th by his family living in Iran whom he was visiting at the time of his passing. His daughters are holding a memorial for his family and friends at Lucas Funeral Home, 1601 South Main Street, Keller, Texas on February 10, 2024, from 6 pm to 8 pm.
