Javier Salinas, 53, of Lakeside, Texas passed away on March 5, 2023 after a year long battle against cancer.

Javier was born on August 15, 1969 to Jose Javier Salinas and Maria Rodriguez in Salinas, California.

In January of 2000, he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas in the Rio Grande Valley. He started his first job at the Texas Department of Transportation as an engineering assistant kickstarting a 23 year career in civil engineering. In 2004, he moved to Fort Worth and last served as the Assistant Central Design Engineer for the Fort Worth District.

In 2003, Javier met his wife Betty in McAllen, Texas. They married in October of 2004 and spent the first 5 years of their marriage traveling around the world and attending numerous U2, Police, and Coldplay concerts.

Javier and Betty went on to have one child, Isabella in 2009. He made sure to share his love of good music, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings with her.

Javier loved cooking for his family and friends. He would spend countless hours working on a recipe until it was perfected. Javier also loved listening to vinyls, collecting Star Wars and LOTR figures, and building backdrops for his models. On Sundays during football season, he could always be found commentating from his favorite chair for America's team: The Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; his daughter, Isabella; his parents, J. Javier and Maria Salinas; his brother, Daniel Salinas and family; his brother, David Salinas and family; his sister, Lily Salinas; and his loyal doggie, Enzo.

Visitation was held at Lucas Funeral Home on March 10th, 2023 between 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral service was held at Lucas Funeral Home on March 11, 2023 at 2:00pm.
