Jean P. Boutier

August 25, 1922 — January 8, 2016

On January 8, 2016, Jean P. Boutier followed his beloved, Geneviève Boutier, to complete their journey that began 68 years ago. Born in LaTeste, France, he followed his father Camille’s career training race horses and becoming a Steeplechase Jockey until WW2 rocked the European hemisphere, later meeting the love of his life, Geneviève. They married shortly thereafter and moved to Chicago, USA to see where their dreams would take them.

Jean worked in a factory to support his young family and later became a licensed hair designer and business owner of ‘Chantilly Coiffures,’ remaining active until his retirement. He spent many years as a member and officer of Les Camarades de Combat in Chicago along with the French Benefit Society of Illinois and also the Alliance Française de Chicago, where one could always find him dancing, at the very least, every 14th of July. Jean and Geneviève moved to Grapevine, Texas in 2006 to be with their son and spend their remaining years with each other.

He was a loving father, husband and grandfather and became friends with most everyone he met. He is survived by his son Patrice and wife Bernadette, granddaughters Danielle and Rachel, grandsons, Andrew, Tony and Bryan and great-grandchildren, Arden, Addison and Christopher. His sister Mimi, her husband Jacque, his brother-in-law Joseph and wife Marie, along with numerous nieces and nephews, both in France and the USA, will miss his him greatly. His adopted children, Nicky and Larry will miss him above all.

All who knew Jean can smile as they know that he will be spending eternity styling Geneviève’s hair and taking her dancing every night above the stars.

Jean, au revoir.
