Jean Kreitler Donohoo passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, in Richland Hills at the age of 90.
Graveside service: 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.
Jean was born in Pomeroy, Ohio, to George William Kreitler and Mary Catherine Caldwell Kreitler. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Ohio State University. Jean served as a member of the U.S. Army Nurse Corps and met her future husband, Albert C. Donohoo, while on active duty at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C., shortly after the Korean War. She left the active duty military when she married, became a military wife and lived in various locations in the USA and Europe. When her husband retired from the military, he opened a medical practice in Richland Hills and she became the office manager. When they closed the practice, they traveled the world together and visited many exotic locations. Jean was a lifelong fan of Ohio Status University football and almost never missed a game on television.
Jean was preceded in death by Albert, her husband of 54 years, and her siblings.
Survivors: Jean is survived by sons, Malcolm, Kenneth, Allen and Robert; daughters-in-law, Judith and Deborah; and grandchildren, Sean, Kaitlyn, Michael and Kristine.
