Jeanette Bertha Miller

Jeanette Miller, 85 passed from this life to her eternal home in heaven on August 16, 2015. She was born to Ed and Bertha Bertram September 12, 1929 in Bishop, Texas. After graduating from high school in Bishop, she attended Brackenridge Hospital School of Nursing in Austin, Texas receiving her RN diploma in August 1950. She and Owen Miller married October 15, 1950 in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bishop and began their life together in Artesia, New Mexico. They also lived in Lafayette and DeQuincy, LA, Daisetta, Bridgeport and Mineral Wells, Texas, eventually coming to Sun City, Texas in 2001 to retire. In 2014 they moved to SouthLake, Tx, and resided at Watermere in SouthLake to be closer to their children. She was baptized as a small child at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bishop, Texas, and then confessed her faith in Christ on her confirmation day April 22, 1944. “My sheep hear my voice and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. “ John 10:27, 28. She was active in many areas of church life –Lutheran Womens Missionary League, taught Sunday school and served as organist for many years in each of the churches that she and her husband attended. When her children all became school age, she worked as a school nurse for 12 years. Following that, she participated in the meals on wheels program and also volunteered in the hospital. She and Owen loved to RV and spent much time traveling in their motorhome. Many friends and memories were made during this special time. Jeanette is survived by her husband Owen of 64 years. Together they have three sons, Dennis Neal and wife Cheryl of Waller, Tx, Stephen and wife Marilyn of Edmond, OK, and Howard and wife Tiffany of Flower Mound, Tx. She is also survived by five grandchildren. Brandon Miller, Elise Miller, Caleb Miller, Taylor Miller, and Cason Miller. She also has 4 step grandchildren and 6 great step grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Her brother Leon Bertram and wife Sylvia of Shiner, Texas and her sister Deloris Leifeste of New Braunfels also survive her.

Memorial services will be held at Lucas Funeral Home at 137 East Hill Street, Keller, Texas on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.

Memorials: In Lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Lamb of God Lutheran Church Building Fund at 1401 Cross Timbers Road, Flower Mound, Tx. 75028.
