Martha Jeannine Vaughn Fraser went to be with her Savior on October 13, 2019 in Grapevine, Texas. She was born to Hunter Wesley Vaughn and Edna Myrtle Cole Vaughn on September 15, 1932 in Columbus, Mississippi. Jeannine attended Franklin Academy and graduated salutatorian of the class of 1950, Stephen D. Lee High School. While in high school she was a member of the first Mississippi Lions All-State Band and was a majorette in the S.D. Lee High School band.
Jeannine attended Mississippi State College for Women then transferred to the University of Mississippi where she studied History and was a member of Phi Mu Sorority and was a majorette in the Pride of the South Band. She graduated with honors in 1953.
A resident of Columbus, Mississippi for over sixty years, Jeannine was a devoted daughter and mother and served her church as pianist, children's choir director, and Sunday school teacher. For over twenty years she worked as the music assistant and financial secretary at First Baptist Church. She was active in her community in various clubs, was on the board of the Columbus Concert Association and was a member of the Junior Auxiliary. Hers was one of the founding families of Heritage Academy.
For the last twenty years Jeannine lived in Fort Worth, Texas, to be near her two daughters and their families.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Elizabeth Earline Vaughn Ellis, and her nephew, Donald Rich Ellis.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Elizabeth Fraser (Mack) Holcomb of Mansfield, Texas and Sheryl Lea Fraser (Frank) Hansen of Keller, Texas; her grandchildren, Anna Katherine Holcomb Page (Stephen) of McKinney, Texas, John Peyton Holcomb (Caitlin) of Dallas, Texas, Elizabeth Vaughn Holcomb of Huntersville, North Carolina, Lillian Grace Holcomb Olson (Taylor) of Pensacola, Florida, Mary Margaret Holcomb of Mansfield, Texas, Hunter Wesley Holcomb of Mansfield, Texas and Stephen McIlwain Holcomb of Mansfield, Texas; James Michael Hansen (Alie) of Lewisville, Texas and Jonathan Wesley Hansen (Mallory) of Roanoke, Texas; and her great-grandchildren William Bruce Page, Nicholas Zachary Page, Sarah Elise Page, Charles Earl Page, Stephen Christopher Page, Jr., Gwendolyn Ruth Holcomb, and Timothy John Olson; Theodore Wesley Hansen, Emmaline Grace Hansen, Thomas Jonathan Hansen, Henry James Hansen and Molly Anne Hansen; and her nieces, Jeannine Ellis Drucker and Gabie Ellis Church.
Graveside services held at Bourland Cemetery, Keller, Texas, arrangements by Lucas Funeral Home, Grapevine, Texas, at 3 pm. on Wednesday, October 16, 2019.
