Jeffrey Allen Brantley

July 18, 1962 — January 20, 2019

Jeffrey Allen Brantley, 56, of North Richland Hills passed away peacefully January 20, 2019 at Community Hospice in Fort Worth, Texas.

Jeff was born July 18, 1962 to loving parents Homer Willie and Martha Jane Brantley in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a 1980 graduate of Carter Riverside High School. After graduation, he worked different jobs looking for the right fit, a mechanic then to Tarrant Printing and briefly at Super Brand (Winn-Dixie Milk). But his calling in life was a long career in Law Enforcement working for the North Richland Hills Police Department beginning October 1, 1986. There were many facets to Jeff’s 29 year career with NRHPD. He was a SWAT team member as well as a Field Training Officer training new recruits. In 1994, he transferred to Criminal Investigations where the REAL fun began. For 4 1/2 years he was part of the Tarrant County Auto Theft Task Force, where he was able to collaborate with other departments. At the end of 1998, Detective Brantley was transferred to Special Investigations and was one of the founding members of his department’s undercover unit. These years were Jeff’s most beloved time of his career, as he excelled in this work. In 2006, he was assigned to the DEA Task Force in Fort Worth. This was another great experience in his career. His last assignment was with his roots, he returned to SWAT and patrol, protecting the streets of NRH.
His distinguished career could not have happened without the support of his family. He married his beautiful bride, Eden Marie (Berg) Brantley on July 8, 1994. Together they built a life that raised six children, all the while providing a firm foundation of family. This was no simple task. “Blessed are the peacekeepers”, Jeff was just that…

He is survived by his wife Eden Brantley; His children: Lauren Brantley, Nathan Brantley (Hannah), Ashley Blue (Byron), Blake Telford (Meredith Driskill), Ryan Brantley and Ty Brantley (Christy); his mother Martha Brantley; one brother; Mark Brantley(Sherri) and sister Deanna Spraggins (Gary, Sr.); and 3 grandchildren; Chloe Brantley, Brayden Brantley and Brazos Blue. He is also survived by his father-in-law, David Berg (Tory) and mother-in-law Barbie Erickson and one sister-in-law Joy Rowley-Cauvel, along with several nieces and nephews along with great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Homer Willie Brantley of Sulphur Springs.
