Jeffery (Jeff) Lynn Schulz, of Haslet, TX, passed away on March 26, 2018, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Jeff was a gentle, loving, bright light in this world. He is now finally at peace and, no doubt, among the angels after a decades-long, courageous fight with brain cancer.
His faith and love in Jesus Christ was steadfast throughout his life until the very end.
Jeff was born on September 9, 1964, in Dallas, TX, to Eddie Ray and Carolyn Sue Schulz. He grew up on his family farm in Malone, TX, and graduated from Bynum High School in 1983. He attended Hill College where he earned an Associate’s degree in Business Administration before starting his career at Nabisco in Waco, TX. Jeff then moved to Austin, TX, and held various positions in the insurance industry prior to finding his true passion as a Benefits Specialist with Seton Hospital for over 10 years.
Jeff loved animals, 80s music, cruises, and travel. He had an avid interest in commercial aviation, vacuum cleaners, and all things Titanic. Jeff was a consummate gentleman who leaves behind a legacy of kindness and friendship, he rarely met a stranger, and he was never shy about asking to hold a baby. He always cared for others and, even during his time in hospice, he was concerned about his impact to family and friends.
Jeff is survived by his devoted spouse, Mickey Howell, who lovingly cared for him for over 15 years; children who adored him, Taylor, Paul, Ashleigh, and Kaitlynn Wolfer-Stevens of Godley, TX; parents, Eddie Ray and Carolyn Sue Schulz of Malone; brother Todd Schulz of Malone, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large “chosen” family who became his village.
Pallbearers: William Barrick, Colby Frost, Matt Frost, Anthony Luedicke, Robert Rosales, Kristofer Simon, and Brin Terrell.
Memorial contributions may be made to Baylor Neuro-Oncology Foundation, Community Hospice of Texas, or Crown of Life Lutheran Church and School.
