Jeff was born in New York. The family lived in Fort Worth at the time but were in New York on business.
He married his high school sweetheart Judy on July 29, 1961, and they both worked while Jeff attended TCU. He played music on the weekends and was a gifted musician. Starting on the drums, he soon began playing bass then rhythm guitars. Later in life, he played guitar in his church band before moving over to the keyboard.
In 1968 he went to work for Chanel 5 (WBAP), first as a camera man, then as Technical
Director. Around 1974 he and a business partner became owners of Photo Media, Inc. For over 30 years it was the largest commercial photography studio in the DFW area and in 2006 he bought out his partner.
Not long after that, he suffered a sub-arachnoid brain hemorrhage and was in a coma for a couple of months followed by months of rehab, thus the business was closed.
For the past 18 years his health deteriorated until his body finally gave up.
During all the years when he was healthy, the family enjoyed many summer camping trips to Colorado, road trips and snow skiing in the winter.
Jeff loved flying and had his pilot’s license so he and Judy would fly to Louisiana to the horse races; to Houston to visit friends and other trips. He also loved fishing, so the family spent many hours on various lakes.
Overall, he was a handsome, funny, kind and wonderful man.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jeffrey (2015).
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Judy, Daughter Janet (Jack) Pritchard of Brock, Texas; Daughter Jennifer (Kenneth) Judd of Burleson, Texas. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren as well as 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
