With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jennie Jones, who left this world on July 12, 2024. She was born on May 21, 1933, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to loving parents David Dixon Adair and Vivian C. Keys Adair. Jennie's remarkable journey led her to attain her bachelor's degree from Midwestern State University at the age of 63, a testament to her dedication and perseverance.
Throughout her life, Jennie cherished the simple joys - from delving into the pages of the Bible to creating delightful dishes in her kitchen and expressing her creativity through sewing and crafts. While she lived in Wichita Falls, she worked as an executive secretary at the White Stores headquarters. Her passion for learning led her to a fulfilling career as the Assistant to the Registrar at Midwestern State University.
In her community, Jennie was known for her warm spirit and devotion to faith. She led a ladies bible study group called Precious Pearls in Wichita Falls and was an active member of a similar group at Milestone Church in Keller, Texas. She was a devoted Volunteer at Pregnancy Help Center in Wichita Falls and the President of Hands in Action Christian Association.
Jennie's legacy lives on through her children: Patti V. Jones, Broadus Jones and his wife DeAnna, and David Jones and his wife Linda. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Amy Jones Ikey and her husband Zach Ikey, Andrew Jones, Riah Jones, and Connor Jones, as well as her great-grandchildren Griffin, Phoenix, and Draco Ikey.
A celebration of Jennie's life will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Lucas Funeral Chapel, 1601 South Main St. Keller, Texas, where her spirit will be honored and her memory cherished.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to either The Center in Wichita Falls or Hands in Action Christian Association (see QR Code in photographs).
Her vast impact on those around her, her unwavering faith, her joyful laughter, and her enduring love will be eternally remembered and treasured. May she rest in peace as her legacy continues to inspire all who were blessed enough to know her.
