Jeral (Jerry) Wayne Ellis of Burleson, Texas passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 in Fort Worth, Texas. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, friend and colleague to all that knew and loved him. He was born on August 21, 1944 in Lubbock, Texas to Virgie and Robert Ellis.

Jeral Honorably served in the US Air Force from July 1, 1963 – July 1, 1983, as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician, Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force (Prime BEEF). A Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force is a rapidly deployable, specialized civil engineer unit of the United States Air Force and finished his career as a Basic Training Drill Instructor.

Jerry worked at General Motors Assembly Division in Arlington, Texas from January 1984 to February 2005 as an Air Conditioning /Refrigeration Mechanic and Pipefitter.

Jerry and Linda were married on February 21, 1979, in North Richland Hills, Texas. In February 1980 they moved to San Antonio where he finished his last tour in the US Air Force as a Basic Training Drill instructor.

After his Honorable discharge from the US Air Force in 1983 he and Linda moved back home to North Richland Hills. After a few months at home, Jerry went to work for General Motors Assembly Division in Arlington Texas. He retired from General Motors in 2005 after 20 years of service.

Jerry enjoyed spending a great deal of his time in their Lake Whitney home after retirement. He was the “life of the party” and enjoyed many hours of fun with family and friends who he loved very much.

Jerry was a hardworking man who loved his family dearly. He instilled in them good morals and ethics, respect for God and family.

Jerry is survived by Linda, his wife of 45 years and his son, Tim W. Ellis, Missy Ellis wife; daughters Tess (Nick) and Jessica, great grandchildren McKenzie Harper & Ava.

Jerry is also survived by his son, Todd E. Ellis, grandsons Tyler W. Ellis and Austin Ellis, Charity, wife and great grandchildren, Henley, Lily, Claire and baby Jeral; Audrey and Evelyn

Also survived by his sister, Judy Smith, niece, Linda R. Salvato (Sam); nephews, Joseph R. “Joe” Ellis (Carolina), John W. Ellis (Jeanna); niece, Nancy E. Thomas; half-sister, Carmen Ellis Ortega; And many, many other nieces and nephews who he loved so very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents Virgie and Robert Ellis, sister, Joyce Munoz, brother, Robert L. Ellis, half-brother, Roberto Ellis.
