Jerrell Neal Newton peacefully passed away February 17, 2023 at his residence. He was born November 14, 1933 to William Horace Newton & Dorothy Bell Neal Newton in Watauga, Texas. Jerrell lived a long life. In his younger years he was a National Champion boat racer. He raced all over the United States. He was a graduate of Birdville High School where he excelled in basketball. He then attended Texas Wesleyan University where he earned a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. At TWC he excelled in intramural sports especially tennis. He earned his Masters in Business Administration at North Texas University.
On December 27, 1957 he married Mary Castor. Together they started Newton Egg Farm along with his parents. He later merged with Olson Farms in California and together became one of the largest egg producers in the United States. After he retired from the poultry industry he became owner operator of Newton Business Park in Keller, Texas. Jerrell was a former President of the Keller Lions Club, he was a director / stock holder of Keller State Bank and he was a real estate owner as well as owning Graystone Polled Hereford Farm in Shellsburg, Pennsylvania. He was a member of Smithfield Methodist Church. He was so proud of the fact that he played third base on the church softball team. He later became a member of Justin Methodist Church. He loved his family and friends. He was especially proud of his granddaughter Kayelen Helton. He loved watching her rope. He was her greatest fan.
Jerrell is survived by his wife Mary of 67 years. His daughter Cheryl and her husband Rip Helton, his daughter Susie and her husband Lee Finley and his granddaughter Kayelen Helton.
