Jerry Wayne Branam, a loving Husband, Father, and Papaw, entered eternal life on January 22, 2020, at the age of 66. Jerry was born on June 22, 1953, in Fort Worth, TX, the son of JW Branam and Edith Wynona Creecy.
Jerry (Big Jerry) was an extremely hardworking man, but a gentle giant with a sweet and tender soul. Jerry was raised in Haslet, TX. Jerry started his career working with his father in the family business, The Haslet Cotton Gin. After searching for the perfect small town to raise his children, he moved his family to Munday, TX, where he resided for over 25 years. A strong desire to be near his grandchildren led him to retire in Justin, Tx.
He had a passion for sports, especially football. Jerry played football at Northwest High School and Tarleton State University until he married his High School Sweetheart, Vicki Irene Tidwell on June 17, 1972.
Jerry was an avid fisherman. He cherished his time fishing with his son and grandson. Many will remember the gifts they received from Jerry’s garden. He took great pride in his gardening and loved sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends. Jerry had a love for cooking. He enjoyed cooking for his BBQ restaurant and frying his catfish for fundraisers, family and friends. Above all, Jerry’s greatest joy and passion were spending time with his grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Vicki Branam; their two children, Jerry Wanye Branam, Jr (Stephanie) of Keller, Brandy Michelle Buffington (Matt) of Frisco; four Grandchildren, Conner Wayne Forehand, Aubrey Lane Buffington, Kristin Savidge and Katelyn Savidge; brother, Jody Branam (Betty); sister-In-law, Rhonda Collins and son Robert; niece, Connie Calvert.
Jerry is proceeded in death by his parents Edith and JW Branam; in-laws, Bob and Beverly Tidwell; sister-in-law, Tammy Tidwell; niece, Bonnie McMahan.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 pm, February 2, 2020, at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, TX, with a reception following the service.
