Jerry Wayne Hert

Jerry Wayne Hert, 70, of Burleson passed away on Friday, April 10, 2020.
Funeral Service: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home with a visitation prior starting at 10:00 until service time. Interment: Green Acres Memorial Park in Cleburne, located at 3201 N. Main St.
Jerry was born April 22, 1949 in Taft, California to Francis Vernon Hert and Evelyn Louise Hert. He grew up in Arlington, TX and attended Arlington High School. After high school he went on to work for General Motors and was drafted by the Army in 1969 and served 2 years. He served in the Vietnam War as a combat medic with the First Calvary Division.
Jerry married Janet Hert in 1981 in Burleson, TX. They were happily married for 37 years. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and lawn mowers. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Vernon Hert and Evelyn Louise Hert; brother, Keith Vernon Hert and nephew, Brian Keith Hert.
Survivors: Wife, Janet Hert of Burleson, TX; daughters, Jennifer Rader and husband, Michael or Roanoke, TX, Jamie Meier of White Settlement, TX; step-sons, Ronald Laymance of Burleson, TX, Steve McConathy of Joshua, TX, Cary McConathy and wife Terry of Fort Garland, CO; sisters, Trudy Duke and husband, Bob of Arlington, TX, Debra Grose and husband, Jim of Grapevine, TX; grandchildren, Kayla and Dylan Duckett, Hunter and Liberty Meier, Kristen Gillette and Faith Laymance; great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Preston and Peyton Duckett, Averey Meier, Jaxon Gillette and numerous nieces and nephews.
