Jerry Holt

June 23, 1950 — April 3, 2025

Jerry Edward Holt was born June 23, 1950 in Fort Worth, Texas. He and his twin brother Gary were adopted five weeks later by Stanley Rhea and Lillian Rose (Sothern) Holt. They lived in Cypress, Texas until Jerry and Gary were 12 years old, when they moved to their ranch northeast of Stigler, Oklahoma, near the community of Tamaha. Jerry graduated from Stigler High School in 1968. He studied at Eastern Oklahoma State College and Oklahoma State University before returning to the family ranch. In addition to ranching, Jerry volunteered on both the Tamaha Fire and Haskell County Sheriff's Departments. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Stigler for many years, and then transferred his membership to Fellowship United Methodist Church in Trophy Club, upon moving to Texas. He began singing in the church choir as a teen and was still an active choir member at the time of his death.

In 1973, Jerry married Reba Horton, and together they would raise 2 children: Courtney and Cameron.

In 2014, Jerry moved from Stigler to Northlake, Texas to be closer to family. During his time in Texas, he enjoyed working at Triumph Sporting Arms and spent countless hours at Dove Creek Cafe in Roanoke, where all the locals knew and loved him.

Jerry passed away at his home in Northlake, Texas on April 3, 2025 at the age of 74 years.

He is survived by his former wife Reba, and his children, Courtney (Holt) Perot and husband Paul; and Cameron Holt and wife Ryan. He leaves behind six grandchildren: Nathaniel Holton Perot, Joseph Marton Perot, Rebecca Jean Perot, Hadlee Kate Holt, Khaki Rose Holt, and Steeley Rhea Holt. Also important to Jerry is his special friend, Renetta Hamilton.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Lillian Holt, and his twin brother Gary.
