Jessamine Elizabeth Smith

Jessamine Elizabeth Smith, resident of Burleson, Texas, passed away on July 4, 2023, at the age of 19.
Jessamine was born September 18, 2003 to Kenneth Brian Smith and Melissa Briscoe in Burleson, Texas.
Jessamine grew up in Burleson where she enjoyed many different activities. She was an avid reader as a child and was awarded an Accelerated Reader Award in Elementary school. Jessamine set a school record in reading more books in one year than any other child in the history of the school.

She also enjoyed gymnastics and was part of the Burleson Stars Cheer Team. She enjoyed other activities,
including volleyball and track.

Once she got into high school, she joined the Burleson High School Strutters. She continued her passion for books and could bury herself in a book for hours on end. She also loved music; Beyonce and Billie Eilish were two of her favorite artists. She also loved listening to music from her dad’s band.

Jess loved to travel and see new places. Her favorite travel location was New York City. She always talked
about moving to the Big Apple one day.

Jessamine had a big heart and looked for ways to help others, even if it left her with nothing. She was known for her gorgeous eyes and eyelashes. Her name was always mispronounced, but she would laugh it off.

She loved babysitting and spending time with children. One of the career paths she looked into was becoming a nurse or a mentor/therapist to help others experiencing similar challenges that she faced in her life.

Left to grieve Jessamine are many family and friends.

She is survived by her father, Kenneth Brian Smith, and step-mother Heather Smith; brothers Ashton Smith
and Connor Smith and step-sister Addisyn Kelley; Grandparents Ken and Paula Smith, Bruce & Dawn Moore and Patricia Moore; Aunt Jenny Davis and husband Chris Davis, Aunt Jill Silvia and husband Josh Silvia and several cousins.

Birth mother Melissa Briscoe and husband Jason Briscoe; grandparents Steve Griffin and wife Brenda Luther; Dana Griffin; Tricia McMahan and husband Pat McMahan; Robert Briscoe and wife LeeAnn Briscoe; Uncles Brandon McMahan and Bronson McMahan, Jason Griffin and wife Latricia Griffin, Jonathon Griffin and wife Rachel Landman; Aunt Amy Dutrow and husband Nick Dutrow; Eric Briscoe and wife Brynn Briscoe; Brittany Rinehart and husband Chris Rinehart; Hillary McLeod and husband Justin McLeod and several cousins.
