JESSE LAVERN “MAC” MCMINN

Mr. Jesse Lavern “Mac” McMinn, 90, of Bedford, TX, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2015, at his daughter’s home in Ponchatoula, LA. Visitation for Mr. McMinn will be from six until eight p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, TX. Visitation will continue at 9 a.m. Wednesday, December 23rd, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 852 W. Bedford Euless Road, Hurst, with services following at 11 a.m., conducted by the Revs. Keith Murray and Marc Lowrance, III. Interment will follow at Santo North Cemetery, Santo, TX.
Jesse was born August 15, 1925, in Mount Calm, TX, and died December 18, 2015 Professionally he was always involved in sales. He was also a world-class domino, farkle, and Yahtzee player.
He was blessed in marriage, having been wed to Lura “Lu” Wallis McMinn for sixty-nine and one half years. Together they served God in their church work and in raising their three children.
He is survived by his wife, Lu McMinn; daughters, Shary Davidson, (Cliff) of Cedar Hills, UT, LuAn McLaurin (Mike) of Ponchatoula, LA, and son, Brad McMinn (Sarah), of North Richland Hills, TX; grandchildren Mark Milburn (Tiffany), Holly Richard (Chris), Jennifer Kolz (Buck), Jeremy Davidson (Heidi) , Dustin Ketron (Alexis), and Megan Hibbetts (Eric); his sister, Nancy Williamson of Monett, MO; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Ruby McMinn, step-mother, Nell McMinn, one brother, Don McMinn, two sisters, Dorothy Smith and Carolyn Adams, and a grandson, Andy McLaurin. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that gifts in Mac’s memory be made to the St. Paul United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 852 W. Bedford Euless Road, Hurst Texas 76053.
