HURST -- Jewel Hunn Crum, 88, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2016.

Jewel was born in Paradise, Texas, the oldest of eight children, to William Harlow and Bessie Lee Hunn. On June 21, 1947, she married Weldon Crum and they made their home in Ft Worth and then Hurst, where they raised their two sons. Jewel went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone as a telephone operator and retired with 35 years of service. She then went to work as a PBX operator with Harris Hospital district and retired from HEB Hospital with 25 years of service. Her passion was her job, and, due to medical issues, had to retire at the age of 85.
Jewel was preceded in death by her husband, in 1985; two sisters, Joyce Stroud, in 1990, and Nell Snow, in 2014.
Survivors: Sons, Don and wife, Linda, of Midlothian, and Bryan and wife, Grace, of North Richland Hills; brother, William (Bill) Hunn and wife Isabelle, of Granbury; sisters: Alice Doss, of Ft. Worth; Goldie Chilton and husband, Jack; Ann Holt and husband, Ronnie, of Bridgeport: Laura Smith and husband, Gary of Decatur. Five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
