KELLER -- Jim R. Boothe, 70, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 26, 2012. Celebration of life: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, First Baptist Church of Keller. Interment: Private. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, First Baptist Church of Keller parlor. Memorials: As a way of honoring what he loved, in lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Rocky Top Therapy Center, 660 Keller Smithfield Road, Keller, Texas 76244. Born in Ballinger, he graduated from New Deal High School. He enrolled in Texas Tech University, but left to serve with the Army. He always spoke fondly of his time spent as a chaplain's assistant in Germany. After he completed his time with the service, he began his career as a bank examiner. He settled in Irving where he met Sue Alice Willett who became his wife. Two years later, their daughter, D'Ann joined them. Later, he began a new career as a bank vice president. When he accepted the position of bank president in Rhome, the family moved to Keller. After many years in banking, he opened his first insurance agency in 1989. His life revolved around his faith, his family, and his friends. In 1984, he was ordained as deacon at First Baptist Church of Keller in recognition of his faith and his heart for his church. In his later years, he became a proud granddad to Madeline and Nicholas. He never missed a chance to watch Madeline perform, and he spent hours driving the golf cart with Nicholas. His love of the outdoors, his dogs, and his horses stretched through his lifetime. From his time in the New Deal riding club until he achieved his dream of having horses of his own, he was never happier than when he was at an event for his four-legged friends. As a way of honoring what he loved, in lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Rocky Top Therapy Center. The family would like to extend our gratitude to the outpouring of love and support we've received from our church family and friends from throughout the community. Preceded in death by his father, Harmon Foster Boothe. Survivors: Wife of 42 years, Sue Boothe; daughter, D'Ann Burrow and her husband, Steve; grandchildren, Madeline and Nicholas Burrow; mother, Willie Odessa Boothe; brother, Kenneth Boothe and wife, Earlene; and a large extended family.
