Jimmie Lynita Vaughan

Jimmie Lynita Vaughan, of Justin, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023 in Justin, Texas. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother and colleague to all that knew and loved her. She was born on Wednesday, December 6, 1933 in Godley, Texas to Lynn and Elkin Abbott. Jimmie attended Godley ISD all 12 years and TCJC with assorted business and electronic classes. Jimmie's hobbies included horse racing, bowling, crocheting, cooking, arts and crafts, traveling, watching sports on TV and spending time with her family. She married on November 5, 1955 in Weatherford, Texas to Covet (Sonny).

Jimmie is survived by her daughters; Sherri and Tim Horton (Justin, Texas), Vanessa and Johnny Jenkins (Graham, Texas); grandchildren; Matt and Dena Horton (Poolville, Texas), Rory Horton (Justin, Texas), Gretchen Forgy (Durango, Colorado), Jada Forgy (Wichita Falls, Texas); great-grandchildren; Shelby Horton (Weatherford, Texas), Nolan Clayton Mathis (Durango, Colorado), Harper Mathis (Durango, Colorado), Charlie Simpson (Durango, Colorado); sister; June McLaughlin (Godley, Texas) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Covet (Sonny) and both her parents.
