Jimmie Wayne Witt of Weatherford, Texas passed away on December 28, 2022.
Jimmie was born on August 28, 1944. He was the son of Thelma Louise Lamar and Everett Burl Witt “EB” in Fort Worth Texas
After graduating high school, he shortly worked for Montgomery Wards before starting his own business. He owned and ran J.W. Witt Construction for over 50 years.
Jimmie was passionate about many things in life. His main hobbies were golfing with his close friends and volunteering as a Marshall at the Colonial for over 30 years, where he met some of his favorite players. Jimmie was all things western; he also was a part of the Lone Star Music Association at Billy Bob’s, recruiting new talented singers.
Jimmie was known for the love that he had for his family. He loved his daughter dearly and was a big part of her life. He was also big on tradition and would take his grandkids to the Texas State Fair every year, just him and his boys. He was a diehard Texas Longhorns fan, and his grandchildren are diehard OU fans. Every year they would go to the fair during the Red River Rival to experience the atmosphere.
Jimmie was a city boy destined for country life. In the early 2000’s, he sold his home and bought a house in the Country. He was able to ride off into the sunset. Jimmie was predeceased by Everett Burl Witt, Thelma Louise Lamar, Jimmie Wayne Witt Jr. and Charles Ross Petty.
He is survived by his daughter Kristy Witt Stover and her husband Marty Stover, grandchild Tyler Wayne Petty and his wife Melissa Petty, and great grandchildren Charles Tristen Petty and Luke Charles Petty.
He is also survived by many extended family members and close friends, of whom he loved and cherished dearly.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, January 6, 2023 at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst with funeral service to follow at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Marc Lowrance officiating.
