Jimmy Grant

North Richland Hills – Jimmy Grant, 69, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away suddenly on Friday, April 11, 2025.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: A service to celebrate Jimmy’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22 at Keller United Methodist Church, 1025 Johnson Road, Keller, TX 76248.

Jimmy was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and spent his life dedicated to his faith, family, and friends. He graduated in 1974 from Richland High School, where he was a standout football and track star. His senior year he was elected as “Johnny Reb”, the class favorite, by his classmates. He continued his education and football career at Texas Christian University. After graduating from TCU in 1978, he continued his education at the University of Texas at Arlington and received a Master of Business Administration in 1981.

For the first ten years of his career, Jimmy worked in both Fort Worth and Dallas in the commercial banking and investment banking industries. He then owned his own corporate financial advisory firm for fifteen years working with small and medium-sized companies in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. He spent five years as the CFO for a Fort Worth-based real estate developer and investor. Most recently he worked as an insurance broker at Grant Insurance Agency with his brother and nephews.

He married his best friend from high school, Jan Joyner, on October 10, 1981. They have three amazing children, Amy, Scott and Bryan. After each marrying their perfect match, they blessed him with 7 granddaughters and 1 grandson. To his grandchildren, he was affectionately known as “Frog”. He cherished each of them and poured his heart into being the best Frog he could be.

Jimmy was a devoted member of Keller United Methodist Church, where he found community, purpose, and joy. He served his church faithfully and found strength through his relationship with God. His quiet, genuine faith was reflected in the way he lived his life—with kindness, humility, and compassion for others.

Most recently, he served as chairman of Keller United Methodist Church Endowment and was on the board of the Birdville ISD Foundation for Educational Excellence.

Jimmy had a kind heart, a quick wit, and a deep sense of integrity that touched everyone who knew him. He loved to laugh and never missed a chance to joke around or lighten the mood. Whether he was cheering on his grandchildren at their events or sharing stories over a glass of gin and tonic in the mountains of Creede, Colorado, he was a steady presence and a source of joy and strength.

He will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his faith, his sense of humor, and the countless lives he impacted through his generosity.

SURVIVORS: Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Jan; their children, Amy Montemayor and husband Danny, Scott Grant and wife Katie, Bryan Grant and wife Lauren; his cherished grandchildren, Rilee and Taylor Montemayor, Easton, Ava, and Millie Grant, Ryan, Remy, and Reese Grant; and his brother, Mike Grant and wife Cissy, Mark and Carol Howe, Ben Joyner, numerous nephews and nieces, their spouses and beautiful children.
