Jimmy was born on June 15, 1932, to Clyde and Dessie Jackson. He attended Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City. In May of 1952, he married the love of his life, Shirley Raye Lawson. They resided in Oklahoma City and Edmond Oklahoma area for the vast majority of their lives. They moved to the Grapevine area in February of 2020. Jim moved to the Southlake Texas area after the death of his beloved wife Shirley in 2021. He was the proud father of seven children.

Jim spent the majority of his life as a loving husband and father. He served in the Air Force, as an Oklahoma City Police officer, and as a renowned Accident Reconstruction expert. He was a Boy Scout leader, a little league baseball coach, a mentor, leader, and friend to many people throughout his life.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife Shirley, Father Clyde Jackson, Mother Dessie Jackson, and his brother John Jackson.
Survivors: Children John Jackson and spouse Cassandra, Sandra Hawk and spouse Tom, Linda Altenhoff and spouse Paul, William Jackson and spouse Melissa, Rebecca Jackson-Wilson, Kathy Jackson, and Jennifer Cosgrove and spouse Don: 17 Grandchildren: and 5 great grandchildren; as well as a large number of loving family, friends, and business associates.
