Jimmy Lloyd Laxton, aged 82, passed away on June 23, 2023. He was a loving son, brother, cousin, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be truly missed.
He was born at home on April 25, 1941, in Coal County Oklahoma to W.D. and Hazel Laxton. He was the second oldest of nine children.
He graduated from Ada High School in 1959 and went on to work in the Oil Field, later a fireman, policeman, and supervisor at Ford Motor Company in Dallas. In 1970 he came back home to Oklahoma began working at the Cement Plant in Ada and eventually retired from there. Throughout his career he was known for his hard work.
But more than anything, he was a devoted father. He loved spending time with his children, sharing stories, going to the lake, playing guitar with Jim and watching Roger play football. He was always there to offer support and encouragement.
Jim is survived by his children, Jim and Roger, their wives Liz and Lisa, his grandchildren Courtney, her husband David, Chris, Josh, Cameron, Kylie, and Mary and great grandchildren Wyatt and Case. He is also survived by his brother Richard, sisters Karen and Sharon, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. His memory will be cherished by his family and friends.
