Jimmy Jo Richardson, 86, passed away on March 4, 2025, at home in Burleson, Texas. Born on August 19, 1938, in a house on Tabb St. in Burleson. He spent his life deeply rooted in the community he loved.
Jimmy was a dedicated business owner throughout his life. After graduating from Burleson High School in 1946, he partnered with his brother Bill to run Burleson Wrecking Yard. In 2005, Jimmy became the sole proprietor and rebranded the business as Burleson Wrecker Service. He continued to serve the community until selling the business and retiring in 2020.
Faith was at the heart of Jimmy’s life. He served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Burleson before moving his membership to Cross Timber Baptist Church, where he continued his service as a deacon and Sunday School Director. His greatest passion was sharing his faith and bringing others to know Jesus.
Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda; daughter Angie Rash and her husband Willie; grandson Brandon Ballinger; step-grandchildren Shana Vaughan, Kyle and Kelby Rash; Great-grandchildren Owen and Brinley Ballinger, Rowan, Vera, Jamie and Maggie Vaughan, Cohyn, Zander, Emilia and Henry Rash; and sister Patricia Massey. He is also remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Dewey and Jennie Lou Richardson; brothers Son, Pete, Bill and Chunky; and sisters Clara, Mary Lou, and Josephine.
A visitation will be held on March 8, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Lucas Funeral Home, located at 518 SW Johnson Ave, Burleson, Texas. A Celebration of Life service will take place on March 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Cross Timber Baptist Church, located at 2560 FM 731, Burleson, Texas. A graveside service will follow immediately at Burleson Memorial Cemetery.
Jimmy’s legacy of faith, dedication to family and business, and commitment to serving others will be cherished by all who knew him.
