FORT WORTH -- Jo Catherine Angle, 59, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, August 18, 2013, in Fort Worth, surrounded by loving daughters Maggie and Clair and her many siblings following a 21-month illness with breast cancer. Service: Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 7341 Glenview Drive in North Richland Hills, 76180. Jo Catherine will be entombed alongside her mother, Lucille Josephine Angle, in Greenwood Memorial Park Mausoleum in Fort Worth. Visitation: The family will receive friends 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with Rosary beginning at 8 p.m., at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. Memorial: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jo Catherine's memory to Moncrief Cancer Institute, 400 W. Magnolia Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76104, (817) 288-9800. Jo Catherine, "Sissy" as she was called by family, will be dearly remembered as a loving and devoted mother and sister and a dedicated healthcare professional, working for 34 years as a registered nurse serving and helping to heal and comfort others. Jo Catherine was born in Fort Worth on Christmas Day 1953. As the eldest sister of eight children, she was often called upon to keep others in line, and did so with a strength and honesty that while correcting always encouraged the course and ambitions of her family. Her sharp sense of humor and delight at the absurd will be missed and dearly remembered. A 1973 Haltom High School graduate, Jo Catherine later attended the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio, graduating with a nursing degree in 1978. She returned to Fort Worth and worked in area hospitals including St. Joseph Hospital, North Hills Hospital and Plaza Medical Center. Colleagues called her "Nurse Mother" and remember her as a perfect mentor and dedicated professional whose patience and compassion earned respect and lasting friendships. She was preceded in death by father, Tully Andrew Angle Sr.; mother, Lucille Josephine Angle; and older brother, Tully Andrew Angle Jr. Survivors: Daughters, Margaret Shaheer Monfared and Yasamine Clair Varshochi-Monfared and their father, Javad Varshochi Monfared; sisters, Paula Sue Payne and husband, Rodney, Melissa Ann Angle and partner, Julie Korek, Karen Elizabeth Gentry and husband, Greg, and Mary Christine Angle Smith and husband, Roy; brothers, Matthew Hoyt Angle and wife, Dolly, and John Douglas Angle and husband, Joel Burns; nieces and nephews, Zachary Lewis Payne, Luke Wilder Angle, Will Johnson Angle, Meagan Elizabeth Calvey, Gregory Austin Gentry and Sarah Christine Smith; uncle, Daniel Neal Johnson and wife, Jane; cousins, Lisa Salter and Jeffrey Johnson
