Jo Nell Montgomery

Jo Nell Montgomery, 86, of Bedford, Texas passed away suddenly of natural causes on March 11, 2023. She was born on December 29, 1936 in Wolfforth, Texas to W.W. “Bill” Baker and Doris Baker. She grew up on the family farm in Wolfforth and graduated from Frenship High School in 1955. She was married to Don Montgomery in 1956 and together they had three children: Donna, Phil and Karen. They raised their family in Euless, Texas and divorced after 28 years of marriage. She worked for several companies as an electronics assembler and retired from Bell Helicopter in 2005.
Family always came first for Jo Nell and she was happiest spending time with her children, grandchildren and extended family. She especially enjoyed hosting family dinners and holiday get togethers for everyone. In her retirement years, she also loved taking RV trips with her fiancé, David James, and joining him at classic car shows and other social events with their friends.
Jo Nell was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Dwain Baker and Richard Baker; and her fiancé, David James.
She was survived by her three children: Donna Bilbrey of Lewisville, Texas; Phil Montgomery and his wife, Lily of Granbury, Texas; and Karen McLeroy and husband, Dane of Hurst, Texas. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Misty Gann, Brian Montgomery, Megan (Paul) Greene, Lauren (Anthony) Mercurio; and seven great-grandchildren: Ava Mercurio, and Michael, Jaxson, Wesley and Evelyn Greene, Cleyton and Eathon Gann and one great-great-grandchild: Vevlaray Gann

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, Texas 76053.
