Jo Ann (Mansell) Richardson, resident of Burleson, Texas passed away on March 27, 2025 at the age of 86 years.
JoAnn was born in Cordell, Oklahoma on May 4, 1938. She grew up in Midwest City, Oklahoma. After graduating high school, she worked for GMAC for nine years. During this time, she met Clark Richardson whom she married on August 16, 1958. Shortly after they were married, they moved to San Antonio, Texas. They had their first child, Pam, in San Antonio. They later moved to Fort Worth, Texas where they had their second child, Cherie. In 1973 they moved to Brussels, Belgium which gave the family an incredible, once in a lifetime, set of memories. In 1975 they returned to Fort Worth for a short time and then moved to Burleson in 1977. This became home and they never moved again.
As many people know, JoAnn was an extremely loving, kind, caring, thoughtful, and giving person. Family was one of the most important things to her. She was always there to help, listen, have fun, play games, go on vacations, or do anything that involved family. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. It was impossible not to like her or to be in a bad mood when you were around her. Her smile was infectious and she loved to make people laugh.
In her spare time, she loved making things and was quite talented. She was always sewing, crocheting, quilting (she won many contests for her quilts), gardening and canning fruits and vegetables they had grown, writing letters to family members, sending cards to family, friends, physicians, and others. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, Clark, in their motorhome. They went on many trips and visited all 50 States.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Clark Richardson; her parents, Lawrence and Mary Mae Mansell. She is survived by her daughters Pamela Thomson and husband Allen Thomson, and Cheryl Walker and husband Randy Walker; grandchildren Elaine Montgomery and husband Irving Montgomery, and Jason Thomson and wife Ashley Thomson; and great-granddaughter McKenna Thomson.
