December 12, 1969 – February 15, 2021
Joe Wayne Davenport unexpectedly passed away on February 15th at age 51. He was born in Grapevine, Texas to Mary Ann Trevino and Leland Tom Davenport.
Joe was a jack of all trades and master of appliances, his hands were rarely still. He found joy in helping others and fixing things up in true Joe fashion. Joe was world-renowned for his quick-witted responses, always giving people a hard time, not holding back his opinion, and a knack for telling it like it is. Everyone always knew where you stood with him. He liked you or he didn’t, it was black or white.
He always told you the truth, even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. His extensive vocabulary was more than highly proficient at knowing more curse words than most people learned in a lifetime. His words of encouragement, keeping us all in line, and life lessons gave us all something to pass down to our children.
He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his son, Blake Davenport and his wife Lexy Davenport; his mother, Mary Ann Trevino; his grandmother, Mary Lou Johnson; his brother, Richard Davenport and his wife Kim Davenport; his sisters, Kim Davenport and Karen McKenzie and her husband Trey McKenzie; his grandchildren, Jaxon Davenport and Aspen Davenport; many nieces and nephews, BrieAnne Davenport, Dalaney Lopez, Austin Hughes, Jacob Gilliam, Mekayla Davenport, Noah Gilliam, Gavin McKenzie, and Addison McKenzie; significant other Traci Henderson, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leland Davenport.
All whom loved Joe will never forget his tenacity, wit, charm, generosity (when pertinent), and undying love and caring for them. Joe Wayne Davenport will be truly missed and forever in our hearts.
