Joe Watt Hardin Jr., 79, of North Richland Hills, TX passed away Tuesday March 23, 2021. Joe was born in Fort Worth,TX to Watt and Yvette Hardin on February 4, 1942.
Joe graduated from Brenham High School in Brenham, Texas. Joe served in the Navy for 3 years on the USS Yorktown in Longbeach, CA. After his time in the Navy, he attended Texas Tech University. Joe married his high school sweetheart and favorite dance partner, Katy Lou, in 1965. Together they owned and operated their small business, raised 2 daughters, traveled and created many special moments with family and friends.
Joe had a long career as a General Contractor where he ran Red-E Builders, Inc. with his wife for more than 40 years. He designed and built buildings for and with many people who became close and dear friends. He was attentive, trustworthy and always wanted things to work out the very best for everyone involved.
Described by his brother as a man’s man, Joe always told you what was on his mind. Joe spoke the truth and would help with anything if you asked him.
His daughters will remember him as their loving daddy. He raised them to love the Lord, and prioritize faith and family, hard work and love of country. Joe will be remembered by so many, including his sons-in-law, as a generous friend and mentor.
Joe’s grandchildren will remember his genuine & good hugs, firm handshakes, great stories, love, loyalty, and strong faith.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Katy Lou, brother Bill Hardin and his wife, Jeanette, 2 daughters, Annette and her husband Bryan McNatt, and Susann and her husband Jeff Smith, 4 Grandchildren Jared, Abby, Isabel, and Lilly, as well as very special nieces and nephews and their loving families.
Preceded by his parents, Watt and Yvette Hardin and his sister, Kathleen.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Lucas Funeral Home at 1321 Precinct Line Rd, Hurst, TX 76053. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 1 PM at Mount Olivet, 2301 N Sylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76111, Memorial Lawn 29.
