FORT WORTH -- Joe D. Hunter, 96, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012.
Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday Lucas Sylvania Funeral Home. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the giver's choice of worthy organizations.
Joe was born May 18, 1916, in Grapevine to Charles and Eliza Hunter. He was a devout Methodist and enjoyed 67 years of marriage to Clara Lee Hunter. Joe built their home himself and worked for many years as an electrician and in building maintenance for Fort Worth mainstays such as the Easter Seal building and the Child Studies Center. He was an example and inspiration to his family and many who knew him.
The family would like to thank Clare Bridge Assisted Living Center and Compassionate Hands Hospice for their exceptional care and devotion.
Joe was preceded in death by, his wife, Clara; parents; brothers; and sisters.
Survivors: Joe is survived by his daughter, Doris Crocker and her husband, Charles; grandchildren, David and Kristin Crocker, Michael Crocker and John Hayes; and many nieces and nephews.
