Joe Ann Johnson
September 21, 1928 to July 2, 2023

Joe Ann “Jody” Johnson peacefully passed away on July 2, 2023 of natural causes. Jody was born in Fort Worth on September 21, 1928 to Joe and Belle Yeargan. She was a member and faithful volunteer at Peace Lutheran Church for forty years and Crown of Life Lutheran Church the last ten years. Jody leaves behind sister Glenda (Carl) Williams, sons Dennis (Linda), Joe (Angela) and Glen (friend Lynn), three grandsons Dennis Jr. (Bandi), Brad, and Jared, five great grandchildren, David, Haden (Taylor), Hudson, Aubrey and Jacob, and two great-great grandchildren, Alivia and Ashton, along with extended family. Her husband of 76 years, Ray W. Johnson, preceded her in death in 2021.
Jody was talented in sewing, knitting and needlepoint crafts, enjoying gifting those items to family and friends. Her family can attest to her excellent cooking skills. Jody and Ray traveled the entire United States and parts of Canada in their motor homes for many years.
Our Jody was affectionally known as, Mother, Mom, Sissy, “Geemaw” and “Neena”. Never one to shy away from life’s challenges, this lady was most tenacious and an inspiration to her family. She will be sorely missed by her loved ones.
Memorial Services will be held at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, TX (817) 284-7271, on Thursday July 13, 2023 at 2:00 pm. Officiated by Pastor David Jung.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to G.R.A.C.E. Grapevine, P.O. Box 412, Grapevine, Texas 76099, or a charity of your choice.
