Joel Gregg Wheeler

Joel Gregg Wheeler, March 27, 1968 – February 2, 2025

 Joel was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Betty Ann & Joe Pat Wheeler on March 27, 1968. He lived in Fort Worth with his parents and sister, Traci, until 1977, when they moved to Arlington, Texas where he graduated from Arlington High School in 1986. He attended the University of Texas at Arlington earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing degree in 1994. He was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity where he met many lifelong friends. After graduation, he used his God-given charisma and talent to talk himself into or out of most any situation to build a career as a Sales Executive primarily in the Fire and Security industry.

Joel loved building and racing his 1969 Plymouth with his dad and friends. He also enjoyed riding dirt bikes and motorcycles. Going to the gym was a big part of Joel’s life, whether he was training for a powerlifting competition, beating his personal best or training with friends. He also enjoyed playing golf, cooking, watching sports and listening to live music. Joel was loyal, caring, and fiercely protective of his friends and family. He had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. He will be loved and missed until we are together again.

Joel is survived by his son, Ty Wheeler; mom, Betty Ann Wheeler; sister, Traci Wheeler Hall; nephews, Tanner and Zachary Hall; nieces, Brooklynn and Alyssa Hall, his companion Marla Hofer and her daughter Lexi, a loving extended family, and many friends he referred to as his “chosen family”. Joel was preceded in death by his dad, Joe Wheeler, and brother-in-law Greg Hall.
