John Wayne Bell

John Wayne Bell, of Bedford, Texas, passed away on Thursday, October 17 in Bedford, Texas. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was born on January 10, 1936 in Sadler, Texas to John and Merlie Bell. John served in the US Navy. He married Treva Lynn Anderson in 1966. They moved to Bedford in 1970, where they raised their two daughters, Ginger and Cindy. John graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington with a BBS in Accounting. He worked as an agent for the Internal Revenue Service until his retirement in 1995. In his retirement years, John enjoyed his family, many days on the golf course, and serving as a teacher in the preschool department at First Baptist Church of Euless (Cross City Church), where he was a long time member. John especially enjoyed numerous vacations and time spent with his children and grandchildren.

John is survived by wife, Treva Bell, of Bedford, Texas. Daughters, Ginger McClure of Red Oak, Texas and Cindy Leach and husband Jason of Hurst, Texas. Grandchildren Chris McClure and wife, Lindsey, of Plano, Texas, Melissa Wilburn and husband Zack of Fort Worth, Texas, and Carrie Condra and husband Chandler of Newnan, Georgia. Great-grandchildren Graham Wilburn and Avery Condra. Sister, Nelma Graf of Grand Prairie, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Merlie Bell, brothers Bobby Bell and Billy Bell, and sister Frances Harris.

The visitation will be held from 10:00 am – 11:30 am on Wednesday, October 30 at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Rd, Hurst, TX 76053. Interment will follow at 1:00 pm at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
