John Gerard Bergs, age 67, passed on Monday, November 13th, 2023 in Fort Worth, Texas surrounded in love by his family.
John Gerard Bergs was born March 18th, 1956 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to loving parents Theresa (Brill) and Robert Bergs. John grew up in Wisconsin with his brother Joseph and sisters Mary and Carol, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee. Much of his career was as a mechanical engineer working at Motorola and Nokia. John met the love of his life, Katharina St. Louis, and they were wed September 20th, 1986. The loving couple had two children, daughters Laura and Victoria. The family moved in 1999 to Fort Worth, Texas, their daughters marrying and extending the family with three cherished grandchildren. John was a family man, and his favorite memories were times spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
John was active in his community as a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also volunteered his time with Toastmasters International. John was a band booster supporting the school district, and was very involved as an Acolyte at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. When not a force for positive change in his community, John loved to bowl with family and friends.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Theresa Bergs.
John is survived by his adoring wife, Katharina (St. Louis) Bergs; his two daughters and their husbands, Laura and Tyler Tidmore, and Victoria and Brian Hasty; his three grandchildren, Connor, Annabelle, and William; his brother and wife, Joseph and Caroline Bergs; and two sisters, Mary Bergs and Carol Jilek with her husband Jim; an extended family that loves and misses him dearly; and numerous friends and acquaintances whose lives were never quite the same after meeting him.
A visitation, rosary, and eulogy will be held on Tuesday, November 28th, 2023 from 6-8 o’clock p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home, located at 1601 S. Main St. in Keller, Texas 76248.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, November 29th, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, located at 2016 Willis Lane in Keller, Texas 76248.
A private inurnment will take place at SEAS at a later date.
