John Cooley

June 5, 1957 — November 13, 2021

John M. Cooley, 64, died, too soon; it happened Saturday afternoon (November 13th, 2021) at home in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born June 5, 1957 in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Mary Kay (Allen) and Tommy Leroy Cooley.

He was married to his Best friend, Sandra (Turpen) Cooley for 17+ years.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra, two daughters - Aubrey and Chrissy Cooley; sister, Kathy (Mike) Caves - Galesburg, IL, a brother, Mike (Nancy) Cooley - Indiana. His cherished cousins Gary and Dale (Trish) Smith of Galesburg IL and Carol (Joe) Vericella of Normal, IL; Three grandchildren: Makenna and Caitlin Guerin, and Seth Cooley and one great-grandchild. Also surviving, adored pups, Ozzy and Holly Cooley.

John was proceeded in death by his parents and his daughter, Amanda Kay Cooley. John was of the Catholic Faith, an AA member of 30+ years by choice (his religion and tribe). And, a retired BNSF RR worker of 40+ years; He was known as a talented, respected, and resourceful Dispatcher.

He was loved by his family, friends and tribe, both in Texas, as well as in Galesburg, Illinois.

He is remembered for his big presence, and booming voice. John was fun and a wonderful storyteller. Too, he loved music, mainly, Blues and Rock N Roll. He will be missed by many.
