John Douglas Garner Jr.

John was born a premature baby in Fort Worth, Texas. Against all odds, he fought on a daily basis to overcome whatever challenges life put in his path. From the very beginning, he was a fighter. He was always strong-willed with a gentle soul, offering a smile and friendship to everyone he met. He never let adversity steal that joy.

John loved sports with all his of heart. Whether it was
opening day at Rangers Stadium or a Cowboys game on TV, he was there, fully attentive. Although he was unable to ever play, he was still involved in many different sports as a student athletic trainer.

John was devoted to his family as well as his friends. His concern for everyone never wavered, in spite of his illness. It was his daily goal to make sure the people around him were happy, consistently reaching out, giving encouragement. His love and joy will be missed by everyone he impacted.

John was preceeded in death by his father, John Douglas Garner, Sr., grandparents, Virginia and Harold Garner, grandfather, Clinton Dowell. Survivors include his mother, Christy Wright, stepfather, Brian Wright, sister, Tiffany Hancock, stepsister, Candice Wright, nephew, Landyn Wright and his grandmother, Janice Dowell, along with a large, loving family and numerous friends.
