John Seymour Hatch

John Seymour Hatch, born April 14, 1936, passed away on March 3, 2025, at the age of 88. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

John grew up on a farm in Granger, Ohio, and graduated from Highland High School. He attended Baldwin-Wallace College before serving two years in the U.S. Army in Schweinfurt, Germany. After returning to Medina, Ohio, he started a family and later moved to Texas in 1972. He worked as a long-haul truck driver until his retirement in 2005. John loved traveling, cruising, and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.

John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Johnell Hatch; his sons, Scot and Mike (Kay) Hatch; grandchildren Tyler, Haley, Jason, Jarrett, Lauren, and Tori; and 9 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carrie and John Hatch; his brother, Bob; his sister, Molly; and his sons, David and Steven.

A memorial service will be held on April 12th at 10 a.m. at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests other meaningful expressions of sympathy. John will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
