John "J.D." Durward Blankenship

J.D. Blankenship, 83, of Fort Worth, passed away Friday, May 19th.

Funeral Services: Oak Knoll Baptist Church at 10 am, Thursday, May 25th with graveside to follow at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville at 2 pm. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6-8 pm at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst.
J.D. was born July 20, 1933 in Coryell County to Lovie and Earl Blankenship.
J.D. graduated from Mosheim High School in 1950. He began working for Santa Fe Railroad at 18 years of age. He proudly served in the U.S. Air force then returned to Santa Fe Railroad, where he ultimately retired and lived happily over the last 20+ years.
J.D. is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clyce, Kenneth, Keith; sister, Nina; son John Michael and his wife LaJuan.
He is survived by his brother, Glenn; granddaughter, Chelsea; nieces, Lori and Lisa; nephew, Kenneth; many grand nieces and nephews; cousins; step-children, Don and Tammy and their children and grandchildren, and many more family and friends.
