John was born to Louis and Bertha Shindoll on September 1943 at Baylor Hospital in Downtown Dallas, Texas.
John was a faithful member of Way of Life Church in Hurst at the time of his passing. He was a long-time member of North Cities United Pentecostal Church in Garland, Texas, under Pastor D.G. Hargrove, where he served for close to 30 years in the music department and many other areas.
John was always a “Preacher’s Friend,” and no job was too small or too large. He took joy in serving and helping others, especially the Ministry. He was a talented singer and musician. He played the mandolin and the piano. He had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. He sang solos, sang in Quartets, and even led the Church Choir for many years.
He was known as Johnny, Daddy, Papa, Brother, Uncle, “Mean John,” Faithful Saint, and Dear Friend, and he was loved by all that knew him. He loved his family, he loved people, he loved life, and he loved Jesus.
He brightened every room he walked into.
John is proceeded in death by his Mother, Bertha Shindoll; his Father, Louis Shindoll; his brothers, Harold Shindoll, Walter Shindoll, Frank Shindoll, and his sisters, Betty Shaw and Arvina Surber and one grandson, Roby Worley.
