John Paul Keating Jr.

John Paul Keating Jr. passed away on July 11, 2023. John was born on Oct 2, 1938, in Fort Worth, TX to John Paul Keating and Margaret Reding Keating.
After graduating from Birdville High School in 1955, he served in the United States Navy for four years. John married Deborah Layne Bell in October 1965 and had two children, John Paul and Cynthia D’ann. He graduated from the University of North Texas with his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He then went on to teach for 32 years at TCJC N.E campus in Hurst, TX. John loved the mountains, so he and Deborah decided to move to Red River, New Mexico where they owned and operated Arrowhead Lodge for five years. John and Deborah eventually moved back to Fort Worth where he spent his remaining years.
John is survived by his wife, Deborah; his son, John Keating and wife, Nicki of Athens, TX; his daughter, Cindy Gierisch and husband, Keith of Roanoke, TX, his daughter, Rene Keating of Watauga, TX; his grandchildren, Zachary Gierisch of Dallas, TX, Riley Gierisch of Roanoke, TX, Trace Gierisch of Northlake, TX and Tara Keating of Watauga, TX; his brother-in-law, Billy Cypert and wife Judy of Graham, TX, his brother-in-law, James Smith and wife Mary; niece, Penny Cypert of Ft. Worth, TX, nephew, James Cypert and wife, Rushaniya of Houston, TX, and his nephew, Jason Smith of Cleburne, TX, along with many close friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Keating and his sister, Penny Cypert.
