John Thomas Murphy Jr

John Thomas Murphy Jr., 55, of Fort Worth, Texas, died unexpectedly in his home on May 23, 2015. He was a loving father of six, a faithful husband, and a dedicated family man.
Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Rd, Hurst. Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 28, at Glenview Baptist Church, 4805 NE Loop 820, Fort Worth. Cremation will follow.
He will be remembered by his bright smile, joyful laugh, and loving nature. After graduating from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, he moved to Texas and worked in the defense industry. He had a passion for helping others and spent many years coaching and refereeing soccer. When he was not involved in soccer or spending time with his family, he enjoyed volunteering with Special Olympics Texas and other local charitable organizations. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Survivors: Wife, Kim Murphy; Children: JT Murphy, Zach Murphy, Luke Murphy, Daniel Murphy, Isaac Murphy, and Kellie Murphy; Grandchildren: Liam Murphy, Cole Murphy, Finn Murphy, Emma Murphy, and Levi Murphy; Mother: Virginia Murphy; Brother: Greg Murphy; Sisters: Mary Hoagland and Lynn Sossi.
