EULESS – John H. Park, Jr., age 86, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018, at his home in Euless, Texas.

Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 4 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3713 Harwood Road, Bedford, Texas. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 3 at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Rd, Hurst, Texas 76053.
Pallbearers: Brandon Clary, Tom Fleischer, Seaton Hawkins, Rusty Koontz, Cade Lobodzinski, David Park, Jr., Bob Stewart, and Darrin Walter.
Dr. John H. Park, Jr. was born March 31, 1931, in Columbia, S.C. to John H. Park and Josie D. Bramlett. He attended Jesuit High School in Shreveport, LA, and graduated from Loyola University School of Dentistry in New Orleans, LA, in 1955. John was a Captain in the U.S. Army Dental Corp and moved to the HEB area to start his family dentistry practice in 1957. In 1961, John married the love of his life, Mary Carolyn Bedgood, and together they raised five beautiful children.
John was one of the first Dentists in the HEB area and served many local HEB families and the community during his 45 years of practice. He was past President of the Texas Dental Association. John was passionate about serving and volunteered to help identify victims of the 1985 Delta Flight 191 crash at DFW Airport and the 1993 Waco Branch Davidian victims. John was past President of HEB Kiwanis Club and a charter member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. He served on various civic and school committees and was a member of a number of fraternal and civic organizations.
One of John’s favorite activities was spending time with family. He especially enjoyed taking the entire family to the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, CO. He loved hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. Over the years, John & Carolyn enjoyed traveling and taking several cruises to Europe, Alaska and other exotic locations. John was a passionate student of World War II. He loved reading and the arts including music, museums and theatre.
John was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joe Park, of Mandeville, LA.
John is survived by his wife, Mary Carolyn Park; sons, Robert Buckman, John H. Park, III, and David Park; daughters, Lydia Park Berry and Tricia Park; grandchildren, Cody Buckman, Kimberly Clary, Ashlee Park Hawkins, Cade Lobodzinski, Alexis Michaela Park, Katie Lobodzinski, Brenna Govea, and David Park, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Madison Bunn, Brenley Clary, and Warren Walter; and many other treasured friends and family members.
