John Ralph Revell Jr, 81 died at his home in Keller, Texas on Sunday February 10th. He was married for 56 years to Lois Warfield Revell, father to Jeff (Susan) of Southlake, Tx and Jennifer Planson (Craig) of Willowbrook, IL and grandfather to Haley Planson, Ethan Planson, Nicole Revell and Eric Revell; brother to Joe (Sandy) of Carmel, IN and brother-in-law to Judy Revell of CA. He was born and raised on a farm in central Illinois, served in the US Marine Corp and worked for several years as an Extension Agent in northern Illinois. For 26 years he worked in several banks in Illinois and Indiana. The last 16 years of his career was spent working with a regional construction company in Columbus, Indiana. In 2012 John and Lois moved to Keller, Texas. In addition to his working career, John spent his life volunteering in church and community activities. He was a member of Keller Rotary, former member of the Keller Parks and Recreation Board, a volunteer with Volunteers in Police Service a member of White’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Southlake, a member of the Faithbuilders Sunday School class and a volunteer at Angel's Attic in Grapevine. He enjoyed gardening, reading and storytelling. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Leah Revell and brother Jim.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 15th at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Southlake, TX at 1:30pm followed by a reception. A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, June 8th 2019 in Gibson City, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Illinois 4-H Foundation (
