John Philip Studer, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018 in Fort Worth, Texas.
He was a loving husband and father. Many will remember John for his contributions to the community, as owner-operator of Studer’s Food Market/Exxon (FM 1485 New Caney, Texas), Cub Scout Pack Leader and coach for little-league baseball and football, which emphasized his love of sports.
What some may not know was while serving in the Marine Corps, he participated in four major combat operations including Operation Muskogee Meadow, Pipestone Canyon, Durham Peak, as well as numerous combat composure under fire. On June 18, 1969, Lance Corporal Studer alertly observed an enemy booby trap on the trail ten meters in front of the point man, where he disarmed the explosive device saving his company. John was born in Deridder, Louisiana on April 28, 1950 to Peter and Lois Studer.
John is preceded in death by his father, Peter Studer; his mother, Lois Studer; brother, Paul Studer; and grandson, Austin Miller. John is survived by wife of 44 years, Janya Studer ; sister, Janice and brother-in-law Martin Billeri; sister, Barbara and brother-in-law Perry Smith; Marine Brother and life long friend, Ross Pennington and wife Bungon; daughter, Patricia and son-in-law Gene Grinolds; son, John and daughter-in-law Kelly Studer; daughter, Kathleen and son-in-law Jason Parker; and 11 grandchildren.
